Another unexpected change: they raised the floor of the bathroom so there's a step up, precisely as I had asked several months ago to avoid. Further questioning revealed no other way to do it, though, b/c of the pump needed for the toilet. We'll at least have an outlet installed just to the left of the door so we can have a nightlight there, but I'm still afraid someone will break a toe sooner or later going to the bathroom in the middle of the night.
