May 10: Trying out a vase height (wine bottle seems to be just about right) and flowers on the entry table. I had thought I'd put a touch-lamp on this table but I don't think it really goes. A decorative bowl didn't quite work aesthetically, either, though my blue/purple/maroon stoneware is great colorwise.

The cast iron ladle from the church rummage sale. The bowl is large enough that a single scoop would fill a large soupbowl.

May 22: Decorating decisions. These towels are unbelievably soft and cushy, and they're on clearance sale currently. Bamboo color

Same towel, "Tender Green" color

This is the shade I think would go best in the master bath, out of the choices in this variety of towel -- 'Sage' -- but it isn't on clearance sale like the others. (Note the slightly different bath mat design, too. This is apparently the updated version of the previous 2.)

My photo of "sage"

Sage on the left, and I think this is "tender green" on the right. The left-hand one is the color I prefer; the right-hand one is 40% off. (The store didn't have "bamboo" to see in person, but I think it'd be closer in shade to the sage than to the tender green.)

The previous top pick for towels/mats for master bathroom. I love the color, but the towels aren't nearly as soft, and their reviews aren't nearly as good for either durability or continued softness. They are about 25% less than the super-soft line.

Decision du jour #2: Mirror for the mini-bath. This oak one is very pretty, and is only $64. It's 20 inches wide x 24 high

Mirror 2. This one has the advantage of having a medicine cabinet, which would be handy, and the mirror/chrome would blend with the bath enclosure, though not look as traditional/casual as the other. The inside is mirrored too which would be handy for a side view for guests using the bathroom for general getting-ready purposes, though that's something which we ourselves wouldn't normally use that bathroom for. 15 inches wide by 26 high, $120 at Home Depot

Not the same bathroom, obviously, but showing what the bath enclosure looks like, since for some reason I neglected to snap a picture of it for this purpose. (Bath enclosures are identical in all of the bathrooms except the master bath.)
